Grilled Chicken Burger

Everyone loves a burger or at least I’m yet to meet someone who doesn’t. This is my favourite Grilled chicken burger recipe – its so quick and easy, minimum ingredients and the result is amazing scrumptious burger. These burgers are made with succulent chicken finished with chilli mayo sauce and caramelised onions and fresh tomatoes and salad.

The recipe for Grilled Chicken Burger is incredibly simple. Just marinate chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and olive oil. Grill them in a pan. I prefer using a bigger pan so I can put onions on the side. As chicken continues the onions also slowly get caramelised and while its being done, I prepare the sauce.

These burgers can also be grilled on a bbq grill, this makes them perfect choice for summer bbq.

Once chicken is done just top it with your favourite cheese. I used burger cheese which melts really nicely. You can use Mozzarella, Gouda or Gruyere cheese too. Just cover the pan with lid so the heat helps cheese to melt.

Last bit is to assemble the burgers. You can choose any burgers buns of your choice hamburger buns, sour dough or brioche. I used damper roles, they are crusty on top and soft on inside. Add salad leaves, tomatoes and caramalised onions.

Sauce for Grilled Chicken Burgers

I just love this quick sauce, it just adds so much flavour to the burgers. Add ketchup and sriracha sauce to mayonnaise and that’s it. You can swap siracha with any chilli sauce of your choice.

Grilled Chicken Burgers

Grilled Chicken Burgers – Juicy chicken topped with cheese, caramelised onions and chilli mayo sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Chicken Breast Fillet
  • 4 Burger Buns
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Sirracha or chilli sauce
  • 1 large Onion Sliced
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 4 Slices Cheese
  • Lettuce or salad leaves
  • 1 Tomatoe Sliced

Instructions
 

  • Cut the chicken breast fillet diagonally and flatten it with hammer or rolling pin. You can cut the it according to size of your bun but its optional.
  • Marinate it with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and olive oil.
  • To make sauce combine mayonnaise, ketchup and chilli sauce. Set aside.
  • Heat a pan or skillet and drizzle a tablespoon of oil. Put chicken in the pan. Cooking on each side untill its done.
  • While the chicken is being done caramelise onions. If your pan have space you can add them on side otherwise use a separate pan. Add little oil and cook onions on low heat untill soft and they have got nice colour.
  • Once chicken is done put a cheese slice on the top and cover the pan with lid for couple of minutes so that the cheese melts.
  • In the same pan toast the buns slightly.

Assembly

  • On the bottom part of bun put salad/lettuce leaves, followed by chicken. Put tomatoe slice on the top. Add caramelised onions. On the top bun spread the sauce and place it over .
