Ingredients for Nutella Bombs
To make these soft and fluffy Nutella stuffed buns, you only need a few basic baking ingredients:
Nutella – The star ingredient! You can also swap with any other chocolate hazelnut spread if you prefer.
Plain Flour (All-Purpose Flour) – The base for soft and pillowy bread buns.
Yeast – I use instant yeast, which doesn’t require proofing and makes the dough rise faster.
Butter – Unsalted butter, softened at room temperature, adds richness and flavor.
Sugar – Caster sugar works best for a smooth dough texture and a hint of sweetness.
Eggs – One egg goes into the dough for softness, and one egg yolk is used for brushing the tops before baking for a golden, glossy finish.
How to Make Nutella Bombs
Prepare the Dough – I used stand mixer to make the dough as its a bit sticky dough. You can use a wooden spoon or hands too. Add flour, sugar, yeast and egg, mix at low speed. Gradually add warm milk, when dough starts to form add butter. Continue to mix until butter is combined well. Cover the bowl with cling and rest it in the warm place. Allow the dough to rise.
Prepare Nutella balls – While the dough rises, spoon teaspoons of Nutella onto a baking tray lined with parchment. Freeze for about an hour until firm.
Assemble the balls – Lightly flour a clean surface, knead the dough, and roll it out. Cut rounds using a cookie cutter. Place a frozen Nutella ball in the center of each round and seal the dough around it.
Bake – Place the assembled buns on a tray, brush with egg yolk, and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden.

Tips to Make the Dough Rise Perfectly
The key to soft, pillowy Nutella buns is letting the dough rise properly. In warmer months, the dough rises easily, but in cooler weather it can take a bit longer.
For consistent results, you can use your oven to create the perfect warm environment. Preheat the oven to 100°C (212°F) for 10 minutes, then turn it off. Place the prepared dough inside — it will rise and double in size in about 1.5 hours.
This method ensures even, fluffy buns every time, regardless of the season.
Variations for Filling
If you’re not a chocolate fan, you can experiment with other delicious fillings. Try Biscoff spread, peanut butter, or almond butter for a tasty twist on classic Nutella Bombs.
