Choc Chip Oats Bars

Golden crumbly Choc Chip oat bar made from oats, flour and choc chips. An easy oat bar recipe which can made with simple pantry ingredients They are perfect for a snack or kids lunch box item.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Oats
  • ½ cup Plain Flour
  • ½ cup Self Raising Flour
  • cup Brown Sugar
  • cup Desiccated coconut
  • 125 g Melted Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • ¼ cup Chocolate chips ( dark or Milk)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 160 ° C.
  • Line a 30 cm x 20 cm x 2.5 cm pan with baking paper.
  • Mix the dry ingredients first, then add egg and melted butter, Mix untill dough is formed.
  • Add chocolate chips and fold them in.
  • Spread mixture on the tray and spread make it evenly thick,
  • Bake for 10 minutes and cut the bars into desired shape and size. I cut them into rectangular bars.
  • Bake for another 20-25 minutes or untill golden brown.

Notes

I use 30 cm x 20 cm x 2.5 cm pan this makes an oat slice that's 1.5 cm thick. I wont recommend bigger pan than this but if you choose smaller the slice will be thicker.
