Air Fryer Chicken Tikka Drumsticks

Chicken drumsticks marinated in yoghurt and spices, cooked to perfection in air fryer and served with mint raita.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 Chicken Drumsticks See Notes

TANDOORI SPICE MIX

  • 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder Alt Paprika
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Corriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Salt

MARINADE

  • 2 tbsp Yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Paste
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Paste
  • 1 tbsp Tandoori Spice Mix

TO SERVE

  • Chopped Corriander/Cilantro
  • Onion Rings
  • Lemon Wedges

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients of spice mix in a small bowl. You will only need 1 tbsp of spice mix for this recipe the remaining can be stored in an air tight jar/spice mix for couple of months.
  • In a mixing bowl combine all the marinade ingredients and mix well.
  • Put ¼ inch deep cuts/slits on chicken drumsticks and add them to the marinade. Mix well ensuring its coated well.
  • Cover and marinate for atleast 2 hours. For best results marinate overnight.
  • Preheat Air Fryer for 5 mins at 185 ° C.
  • Put chicken drumsticks in and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Turn the drumsticks over and brush them with remaining marinade. Bake them for another 10 minutes.
  • Check the internal temperature of the thickest piece. Cooked chicken should be 165 ° C. If you don't have a thermometer you can check the chicken by cutting it slightly near the bone to see that its cooked through.
  • You can bake the chicken for another 1-2 minutes to get nice charred colour but don't over cook.
  • Garnish with chopped corriander/cilantro and serve with lemon wedges, onion slices and mint raita.

Notes

  • You can also use marylands, wings or even chicken cut into small pieces. The cooking time will vary depending on each cut used.
